Description
Hinges are a distinctive part of all opening systems. Depending on the requirements, hinges may have different characteristics, the main of which is their load capacity:
Hinges may be either visible on the system, or concealed as a more refined solution. In case of visible hinges, their design and colour complete the appearance of the system. Usually hinges have a cylindrical shape and are available in most popular colours of powder coating and anodising.
Depending on the application, hinges meet different technical requirements and can be found with different names:
- In projecting windows the hinges are called “stay arms”
- In pivoting windows they are called “pivot hinges”
- In bifolding doors, ‘roller-hinges’ are used, as a combination of rollers and hinges
- Finally, they can be screw-fixed or clamped according to their installation on windows or doors
